I will confirm what a couple of others have said about the SS, they have to be broken in. I was disappointed when I test drove mine, (had the 2LT RS), bought it anyway, and once they are broken in, they are definitely a different beast.
I have owned both, had the 2LT RS for 2 years, and the 2SS for 10 months now, both are great cars, but power-wise, there is a huge difference between the 2. The one you test drove, either wasn't broken in, or had bad gas.
The only time I miss the 2LT, is when I pull into a gas station.
