I test drove a 2012 L99 and it was nice, but it felt like it was lacking. I own a M6 GTO now and don't regret buying the GTO at all. And for me, the only part of the car that Camaro beats my GTO is trunk space.
I did test drive 2 different 1LE's and while they were nice I just couldn't justify spending twice the price of my GTO on a car with certain aspects I couldn't get over.
To each his own though and OP as long as you are happy with the car is the most important thing
