just putting this out there according to autoblog the challenger SRT8 weights in at 4140 lbs. if our estimate of the camaro being at 3800ish lbs is correct that's 300ish lbs difference. with the right gearing and power being close. . .the camaro will slaughter the SRT8 until the refresh 500hp version. . .even then though depends on gearing and final weight.
If and it's a big IF chevy drops the LS3 with 430 horses but calls it 405 (insurance purposes done that on the 4th gens) the SRT8 does not stand a chance in the 1/4 mile 0-60 and so on. for ever 100 lbs of weight savings it's about 1 tenth of a second in the 1/4 mile.
that's the math as it stands.
