Most of what was removed costs very little, usually on the order of hundreds of dollars. The things that were added cost thousands. On top of that, spending thousands of hours testing & tuning becomes expensive, especially when you know you can only spread those costs over a limited number of vehicles.

If its not worth it to you, fine. Its not worth it to me either. But GM isn't adding a full 15 grand 'because they can' on the Z/28.
