If you are unwilling to lay the groundwork, then you haven't earned the right to avoid being gouged with a mark up.
Simply having a strong sense of entitlement doesn't gain you any benefits in society.
Whining and complaining is making you look...like whiners and complainers.
Think about it...

Don't really see anyone whining except you. And you know how that makes you look, right? I personally don't give a flip if someone gets tagged with ADM or not, since I'm not interested in a Z/28 anyway. But the point is, even serious buyers that try to lay the ground work may get lucky and work a deal. But I also know dealers that don't get allocations so it doesn't matter anyway that the deal is in writing, and some that won't put it in writing, do it on a handshake, then zing you with a markup when the time comes because they suddenly had amnesia.
Happens a lot. If you can get it for no ADM, great for you. But not all dealers will do it. That's a fact. I've never paid at or above MSRP in my life on any new car I've ever bought so I don't know what that's like anyway, but I'm sure it's not fun. And there's no reason to break that streak now. But there's enough financial geniuses that are willing to pay more. Good for them. Either way, I hope Z/28 owners are happy with their car.
