I think that this car was made to be exclusive. I don't think GM wants lots of them on the street.
Harken back to 1970 ZR1 package. They came without radios, power steering, or air conditioning and had roll up windows. This was intended to keep most off the street and on the race tracks, much like the Z/28 will be for 2014.
GM could have made this car like the COPO and for racing only but how many Camaro enthusits would have complained about that. With the limited numbers expected, 1500 per year for the 2 year production run they will probaly all sell well. As was mentioned earlier in this thread, the 2015 ZO6 will possibly steal some buyers with the undoutably superior performance. But this car will price out at far above $75,000.
I am not in the market personally for the Z/28 and am planning on keeping my ZL1 forever and hopefully a 6th gen 1LE if one will be offered, as I don't track my cars. Having said that, I am looking forward to the Z/28 hitting the tracks and showing the world what Chevy can do. As a Camaro owner, even another model, I will be proud of the accomplishment.
