I highly doubt ANY CAR can be a one hit wonder on a road track. Also I've only read one article that mentioned the GT500 brake fade. You're comment about "immeasurably slower on a road course" has no valid base. Also you got your 1/4 mile speed difference wrong between the two cars.

Also the ZL1 manual states that if you're using the car for competition you should change the brake fluid. I think anyone who tracks their car already does stuff like that in preparation.
Sometimes you get too caught up on what magazines say, if you talk to a road racer in real life you'll definitely learn a few things.
