The Z51 is at 3450lbs so this car with a supercharger, probably more beefed up components etc. will not be far from 3500 as well. Hence, 500lbs lighter than a ZL1 with 40 more hp. The torque though, OMG, sites are claiming 650ftlbs.

A C6 Z06 had a weight to power of 3150lbs/505hp = 6.24lbs/hp. So to make an equal C7 Z06 that weighs around 3500lbs you would need 3500lbs/6.24lbs/hp=561hp. What naturally aspirated engine can make 560+ hp reliably at the track and still give you over 100,000 miles on the motor? No brainer that they went supercharged on this car, there is literally no other option. Keep in mind it has to slay cars such as the new Ferrari/Porsche cars with close to 600hp.

This Z06 is amazing looking but I would still prefer a C6 one, anything over 500hp in a light car like this becomes a very dangerous vehicle that demands tremendous respect. The europeans do it with small motors that have very low torque, this thing is a torque monster!!! If you ever drove a ZR1 you will understand what I mean. First time I drove it I knew this is a car that is over my boundary, similar to when I tore up my bike driver license after I bought a Suzuki GSXR 1000 crotch rocket and took it for a spin.

Very cool car though, I hope this look trickles down into a Grand Sport C7 like it did on the C6's.

I would think the composite panels (bolt-on?) would not be to difficult to replace. The front-end and front fenders look the same as the Z51, except for the black aero pieces.
