Opinions and help on my audio system overhaul.
Hello all, so I just got back into the Camaro world after a brief hiatus. I got myself a 14 2SS/1LE right before Christmas, absolutely love the car, really fun to drive. I had a 11 2SS/RS before and I am happy to be back in a Camaro. Anyhow as we all know the Boston Acoustics kinda sucks. So I am overhauling the whole system. I do have the mylink head unit w/ Navi, so I am not planning on changing that out. My plans are as follows:
Front speakers: Infinity Kappa 60.11CS, 6 3/4 component set
Rear speakers: Infinity Kappa 6x9 3 way coax
Amp: Alpine PDX V9, 5 channel amp
Sub: RE Audio SEX10D2 subwoofer
Enclosure: ******** drop in enclosure
Wiring: Kicker 4 gauge amp kit, ******** FARK kit.
Now besides RCA's what else would I need, would I need a LOC such as the audiocontrol LC6i or anything like that? How difficult would it be for me to do the install. I was going to go with either a whole JL audio or Rockford setup but I do not feel that spending the extra dough on all brand specific components is worth it. I had a shop here in SoCal who was ready to charge me 4k for a Morel speaker set up with the same Alpine amp and a JL 10W6V3, that is way too much for what I believe I could achieve for a fraction of that price. My goal is to improve the sound quality and give the system the bass it lacks. I can pick all the above components for a little over 1k buying most of it through Amazon. All the above components seem to have really good reviews and will not break the bank. Opinions, thoughts, suggestions are welcome.
