Now that you mention it, maybe the sealant tape was there to begin with. I don't remember - it was last year. The pic looks good, though. Plus once it is in, you can tell if it is leaking by getting under there after a few days and looking for coolant drips right at the base of the bolt.

FYI: If there ARE coolant drips there already BEFORE you take the existing firing off, DON'T DO IT. There was a problem for a while on the assembly line where someone cross-threaded a bunch of these, and they may need to be tapped out. There's a thread on this with my name on it if you are interested, search for it. In a worst case scenario it is possible that something that was cross-threaded might necessitate a new block (!!) and apparently that has happened before, according to other posts on this site. So check first for red drips before you touch anything. If there are red drips, you can find the recall notice online or I can help you.
Thanks for the heads-up. I do have a small coolant leak under there somewhere, which is one of the reasons I wanted to delete this whole mess. But I need to get under there and see exactly where it is coming from. If it's coming from the block port adapter fitting....I'll be in touch with you!!!
