In general I am still confused as to why people want to delete it, but then again I went the other way and put a big ass oil cooler on mine because I am supercharged and do track my car.
Well, I am NOT supercharged, and don't plan to be. But I do drag race occasionally, and I am also moving to Florida soon (pretty drastic climate change). But never been on an auto-cross or road course track, and don't really plan to ever do that either. From what I've been told, these factory oil coolers are pretty much a "joke", and are nothing more than glorified "coolant heaters" anyway!!! I would probably consider adding an aftermarket oil cooler if I knew it would actually add some sort of value to the performance of my car. But from everything I've been told, external oil coolers are really not needed on pretty much any "LS" engine......unless there are situations of sustained high RPM's.....like autocross or road course racing.

If you disagree or think I am off-base on this, please let me know!!! I certainly don't want to do something that could possibly cause irrepairable damage to my engine!!! My warranty is already toast.....so even if I have a possibly cross-threaded coolant fitting in the block....there's not much that the dealership is going to do to help me out without charging me a fortune!!!
