So I am definitely not the most knowledgeable guy here. Others have much better mechanical skill and smarts. The OEM setup seems to average out the oil and coolant temps by passing them over each other. Maybe that is not necessary in typical driving, meaning maybe the rad can cool the engine just fine with only the coolant loop. In my situation I have a blower and go to the track and saw high engine temps. So I wanted even more cooling, and it works great. But sounds like a very different situation than yours.
