Just a bit of info for you Camaro nuts !!
Those pics that were posted by one of my colleages here at GM in Oshawa, got himself fired !! That really sucks, because I didn't think that the pictures revealed any "unknown" info. But rules are rules.
The story is that he took the pictures, but it was his son that posted them. Hopefully our Union will work something out for him, because he had almost 30years service, and I don't feel the punishment fits the crime.
As far as the Camaro, I obviously wont post any pictures, nor will I divulge any critical information.
What I will say about this car is that it will be worth the wait!! I'm a Mopar guy, but GM did their homework on this one. I've drag raced over the years, as well as built many cars, and this car is "beefy" ! It should handle 600+ HP.
Some of the components look like they belong on a 1-ton truck. One of the posters mentioned that the plant will be making saleable cars by Feb 09, and I think that's about right. Many cars will be built beforehand, but will be prototypes that will be used as yard cars or as crash test cars.
I will be very interested in the final weight of it, because like I said, everything seems overkill.
I thought GM was building the wrong car at the wrong time, but I may eat my words on that if they put a fuel efficient engine in for the customers that may want that.
There must be a good reason that GM picked our assembly plant to build this car!! I guess being the best North American plant helped !!
