Don't reinstall anything but the crank. A machine shop could assemble and do the machine work for not a ton of cash.
You can have a built ls3 for a couple of bucks. Not 8 grand.

Well the whole picture is that my whole valvetrain and all already have 100k miles on them. While it's down I just figured to get new stuff in would make sense. Then I could take my time and rebuild the other engine in the garage.
I don't think I can put it back together with forged internals, new cam and valvetrain components and have my block cleaned and honed for under 4 or 5k.
Unless I"m missing something. I've priced the parts and work.
