That's not correct.

The total number for 2014 and 2015 combined is 2500-3000 units. This is from GM.

On Friday, January 3, 2014, Chevrolet announced the 2014 Camaro Z/28 will start at a Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $75,000, including DFC and Federal Excise Tax (i.e., gas guzzler tax), but excluding other taxes, title, licensing and dealer fees. Attached is the press release that accompanied the announcement.

The Camaro Z/28 is a road racer first, and street machine second. It will utilize a wide range of state-of-the-art exterior performance modifications and extreme mass saving measures versus other current Camaro production models. As such, production of the Camaro Z/28 will be limited over the next two model years (approximately 2500 to 3000 units).

To manage expectations of both customers and Chevrolet dealers, Chevrolet has calculated an estimated production guide number that will cover the 2014 and 2015 model run. The guide number was based on individual Chevrolet dealers’ retail deliveries as a percent of the national total deliveries of new and unused Camaro models from November 2012 to October 2013. Once the guide number for 2014 and 2015 model run was calculated it was then divided between 2014 and 2015 model years.

On Thursday, January 23, 2014, the estimated production guide number will be posted on GMPrograminfo.com (only GMPrograminfo.com user names associated with a dealer or general manager will be able to view the guide number). Two guide numbers, one for 2014 model run and one for the 2015 model run, will be posted on the site.

Chevrolet anticipates only dealers who have delivered twelve (12) or more new and unused Camaro vehicles from November 2012 to October 2013, will be offered an estimated production guide number for the 2014 and/or 2015 model run. Please keep in mind that the estimated production guide number is based on Chevrolet’s estimated production schedule, which remains subject to change. Many factors affect the actual production quantities, including but not limited to product and part constraints, government requirements and evolving marketplace conditions. Therefore, this estimate is not a volume commitment. Chevrolet reserves the right to change the Camaro Z/28 distribution plan or the timing for implementation of that plan from time to time at its sole business discretion.

Chevrolet will begin to accept orders for the 2014 Camaro Z/28 through GM GlobalConnect’s Order Workbench on Thursday, January 23, 2014. Your Chevrolet field team will share the process to submit orders into production in the coming weeks. The first 2014 Camaro Z/28 models are expected to arrive in the second quarter of 2014.

Please address any questions regarding the Camaro Z/28 allocation process to your local Chevrolet field team.

Good luck and great selling!!
As for the order screen, it is correct. It's like this for every vehicle. There are options listed that might not be orderable for that model. However, they do have it so that you get an error message if you try to select an option that isn't compatible with that model.

Please don't state something as fact when it's not. If it's something you were told by a sales person, state that. This is how people get confused and begin to spread information that just isn't correct. We don't need that. I order these cars for a living and I can assure you that what I tell you is gold.
