That right there is the reason I decided against solo hfc. How in the world $700 is justified is beyond me but at that price you can pick up some full longtubes for less and get more gains. Which is what I did. If you really don't want to mess with your exhaust sound, I would suggest not modifying it anymore. Longtubes will make the car substantially louder. I think your exhaust might do a good job of taming that but since you don't want to chance it, I'd do the ported manifold. If you can get a hold of the person still doing the porting
