Also, I have a C-Tec battery tender on her but it's connected through the trunk and i'm concerned about having the trunk closed while the C-Tec is on. Don't batteries give off gasses while being charged/tended?
The battery is vented, so there's no concern. BTW, why not connect the battery tender to the terminals in the engine bay, and close the trunk?

As for Sta-Bil, I have been using the regular stuff for years in cars and small engines. Never a problem. However, the time to put it in is when you fill the tank before storage, not half way through the winter. It needs to get mixed during fill up, and then the treated gas needs to get into the fuel line and injectors when you drive home from the gas station.
