MF is great for a faster cut, but it can take some practice to finish down to perfection with MF on some cars. Lowering your speed and pressure are the two easiest changes for finishing with MF as opposed to foam.
The best of both worlds is to knock out the majority of the defects with orange MF, then finish down with white foam IMO.
If you take good care of the pads (remove them from the backing plate gently, wash/dry them properly, they will outlast foam pads by a decent margin. I have a set I've used on over a dozen corrections and they are just now starting to lose some of their fibers and I don't feel like they are cutting quite as well as they did when they were "fresh."
Both foam and MF pads will last a LONG time, but they start to lose a degree of effectiveness over time when compared to a new pad.
