It was never clear to me why the Camaro team would paint a pre-production Z/28 in a color they would not sell and you cannot buy.
Somebody here said "That has been done before" but that is not really an answer to the question. We now see how great the car looks in the production colors so what was gained, beside disappointing future buyers, by showing the car in a color I can't buy? Wasn't the very surprise existence and announcement of the car enough of a publicity draw, not to mention the extreme performance of the car itself? Why was it felt an exclusive paint treatment for an already exclusive machine was also necessary?
It sill makes no sense to me.
