I have not tried getting in to the settings through the dial-er yet. I will look at that.
So far I have only used the plain EQ app. That only has base and treble. I do not have the Boston acoustic system so I don't know if that changes what you would want to use.
I have found that my Bluetooth does not show that it is connected until I use it in some way. However, even when the Bluetooth does not look like it is on if a call comes in it comes through the head unit.

The more I play with this system and figure stuff out, the more I like it. Feels like it is pretty plug and play from the hardware standpoint, but then there is lots of tweaking to do to really get enjoyment out of it.
I hear you. The volume on mine is crazy high. One little step turn on the volume knob (next to min/mute) is normal, one more is loud, one more is super loud/distortions (at only three little turns from mute, about 5% of total scale).
