If it's clear coated, just treat it like car paint.. clay, polish, protect...

However, there is such a huge variety in the quality of carbon fiber, as well as the quality (if any) clear coat put on top to protect it.

If it bare, glossy carbon, then the resin will fade and oxidize quickly. You can polish it a little bit, but eventually it is a losing battle.

If it's cheap clear coat over carbon fiber, or clear coat over cheap carbon fiber, the fiber resin can still oxidize with time, and you can get damage under the clear coat that is impossible to fix.
