If I buy your FARK and use that, can I still give power to the center speaker in any way? If so, how? (It sounds dumb to say, but I don't mind it being a left or right channel. The sound bouncing off the windshield is what I want.)
I don't want to purport to speak for you or know what you are thinking, but when you say you want sound bouncing off the windshield, my first question is "why"? Glass is a horrible surface for sound for so many reasons, two of which are vibration and reflection. If you want the sound bouncing off for reflection, it seems that you are just looking for a fuller sound stage. IMO, both the questionable sound quality of that center speaker and unreliability of refracted sound waves coming off glass are NOT an ideal way to fill a sound stage. Running two good quality front component speakers with the tweeters placed properly can give you fantastic imaging. If it wasn't for the processing limitations of the MyLink head unit, some pretty discriminating listeners could probably live with that alone. That is why I will be adding a DSP to my system. I love good quality sound and this head unit is limiting my system. For the reasons Steve said, leaving a center speaker and trying to run sufficient power to it seems like an inefficient use of amplified power. For the extra juice you'll feed that center speaker (or the cost of replacing it), you'll have been better off getting a good quality 4 or 5 (if you want a decent sub) channel amp, and good components. Best of luck to you. At the end of the day, it's your ears and you'll know what you like.
