Completely agree. You have to do what makes the most sense financially. Money not being an issue, get a ZL1 and mod it
Depends what your ultimate goal is. If it is mainly power, then you can mod your SS to go beyond what a stock ZL1 is, and add the 1LE suspension and it will handle pretty good. BUT if you'd be happy with a stock ZL1 you will have a more powerful car with a warranty.
Do what you can afford.
