I wasn't alive when the invention of clay came about, But I can only imagine how earthshattering that was for body shops/detailers. The ability to pull contaminants out of the paint safety and have them not get all on your pads when buffing which could risk severe swirls.
And body shops being able to take better care of overspray...
Clay just has endless uses and makes life ten times easier.
