In answer to the OP's question, I have the LoveTheDrive unit and like it very much except for one little item; putting it on! It really is a two person job, one to hold one end while the other person steadies the other end. However, I usually put it on in the spring and leave it on until fall, taking it off only the very few times that I have more than one other person riding with me. The inability of reaching things in the back seat is a bonus, IMO. I feel safe parking in a public place and, with the windows up, locking the car. I don't have much in the back seat that could be stolen and with the windows up it would be very difficult for someone to reach the front seats. And,it is nice that it does not interfere with the top going up or down so it can be left on at all times. I have never seen the GM version, so I can't make a comparison, but I am very happy with mine. HTH
