It sounds like a lot of money but we got a ton of track time and autocross time(most people got tired and gave up before our time was up). Don't expect to win anything as there will be people there with a lot more money and time in their cars, but it's still a great time and a fun track day.
The schedule on this Fontana one looks a little funny as they are sharing the track that day and racing doesn't start till the afternoon through late night, and I'm sure it's going to be way more busy than Laguna but I'm driving down from the SF Bay Area anyways.
Let me know if anybody has any questions and I'll be happy to help.

The reason you got so much track time at Laguna is they only had about half the people they planned for at the event. I have attended multiple Optima events over the last few years and when the number of cars climbs up to 75 or more, the track time diminishes pretty quick. If the Fontana event has participation similar to Run to the Coast which had over 75 people, track time will be much more scarce...still deciding whether to do this, as the entry is steep for the anticipated track time....
and ddunerider has been to many of these events over the years and is very fast on a road course and autox, you've been to one event?...
