Unfortunately to get a set of replica wheels and all season tires that will fit these cars right will cost at minumum $2000. Likely $2500 by the time all is said and done. I just drove home today for the first time in a serious rainstorm with my 1LE. I was pretty worried, but I was pleasantly surprised that it did ok. I guess I'm use to driving mid-sized pickups with decent power and light rearends. So the 1LE certainly felt as stable as my trucks in the past. You just have to careful, use common sense, and you should be fine in the rain.
Now cold weather is the thing I still haven't decided on yet what to do either. I'm in Texas, so I have a few more options than those up north. But it still gets cold enough I don't want to drive on my F1's. One way or another, i expect to be spending some serious money for tires and possible wheels come winter time.
