Because the broad power band of the LT1 makes it pretty close to the LS7 with less displacement. I would like to see the motor you're talking about fit in between the LT1 and LT4 but what would they put it in besides a sixth gen Z/28? The Z06 already has its motor and GM hasn't been known to give the Camaro an exclusive engine as of recent. They would have to break tradition to do it. Not entirely impossible. We do have a supercharged Z06. Also, for all we know the Viper V10s days could be numbered.
