I have read that TC/stabilitrac will maintain properties even when shut off, but I'm not 100% sure about that. I have a 2011 2SS m6 and for me to get to where I can just punch it at resting idle and smoke the tires, I needed full exhaust, intake, cam, 4.10 gears and ported/modded throttle body, and obviously tune. I'm at about 450 rwhp now. I don't drag race, so I prefer smoking them tires too
I know you guys are focused on manual shift but I just wanted to chime in, even though I have an automatic. In the colder weather (40s-50s) I can get a little wheel action from a stand still, but this time of year... even with the nannies off I barely get any wheel spin. These P-Zeros stick like glue when the temps are above 65 or so. I don't particularly want to burn up my tires, so that's okay, but I do like to play every once in a while. And my car is no dog - she'll flat get up and go. Factory tires, nannies, gears = built to get the metal moving forward ASAP.
