Being slightly under 16, I'm not quite allowed to enter the work force yet (at least from my current understanding). As you can imagine, that's making things go painfully slow for my Camaro fund. On top of that, there are things I need fairly badly, but I'm doing without them in an almost fruitless effort to save up for my future car. To date, I have a little over $200 in the span of a two month period. Not much to work with, but it's a start.
Having done the math, if I work 20 hours a week during the school year, 40 hours a week during the summer weeks, and doing a few odd jobs on the side for two years, even at minimum wage (which is highly expected), I can earn about $20,000. It might seem like a lot of work, but I'm fueled with a passion and a burning desire. I know that after pouring my blood, sweat, and tears into earning the money for it, it'll be the best car in the world (at least to me). It'll be something that I can truly appreciate.
My goal is to buy one when I'm 18. That way I can legally own the car myself and make insurance payments in my name. I'm trying very hardly to keep my grape ape and get a 2010, but we'll have to see how that works out. Worse comes to worse, I'll have to wait another year.
So yeah, that's me. A crazy high school junior with a dream.

On a side note, I am taking donations. If you wish to donate, feel freeto do so.
The dream is grand and noble indeed man, but you also need to consider what is going to happen to your insurance and figure out what to do about the financing of the vehicle. Make sure you have all your bases covered or you'll find yourself in a position of returning the car, selling it or having it <gulp> repossessed. Don't be blinded by passion. Many people, especially crooked salesman, prey on people like us all the time and in blind passion, they will take complete advantage in every way possible. If not overall price of the car, it could be with the finance rate. Who knows? Just watch out man and handle this maturely. Anybody at any age doing legitimate blue collar labor to buy this car has my respect 1000%. Hope to see pics of you and your new Camaro when you get it!
