My Grand Prix GTP had true paddle shifters which could be pressed forward for an up-shift and pulled back for a down-shift.

Haha, ya but this is the only option i can get that qualifies for the cash for clunkers program... unless someone wants to buy my 1989 Ford Bronco with 241,000 miles on it for $4,500
