I saw that in a video interview when the Z/28 came out. If the Z/28 was faster than the Corvette, that's Corvette's problem.
I was out of the country for several weeks, multiple time this year so I watched everything I could find car related on the internet. I looked for it again when this debate came up about the Vette holding back the Camaro but couldn't find it. Perhaps this will be my next mission.
Edit: Add that the Chevy said the Grand Sport was the benchmark for the ZL1 development. Acceleration, braking and cornering.
