Well, his interpretation and explanation of the ruling was that the NHRA didn't care about drag radials or air filters. He felt the NHRA wanted to make sure that all 2008 and newer cars had none of the original safety equipment removed and this is what allowed for the rule exception. The primary safety equipment on the newer cars is the plethora of air bags so this was his concern. I left a little information out, he asked if I altered the chassis, removed any airbags or altered the factory seats or seatbelt system. I said no so he let me run in the 10's.
I personally think he had a lot better understanding of the ruling than the guy who said I could take the drag radials off and then run without a bar. That is just dumb.
