After much debate and anticipation, I decided to take my performance mods to the next level. About a week and a half ago I dropped my car off with Chad Barton at CBI Street Cars just South of St. Louis for a cam install and upper pulley swap. While we were at it, I had the supercharger snout ported, and a solid isolator installed. I ended up going with the BTR Stage 3 cam, the BTR platinum spring kit with titanium retainers, chromoly rods, and we did the Comp Cams trunion upgrade. For the upper pulley, I went with a 2.55, and we switched to NGK TR6 plugs, and a HD greenback belt.
Dave Steck with DSX Tuning worked his magic and really dialed in the car. He also completely rewrote the trans tune, which I had been have some issues with.
I am extremely happy with the results in both power and sound. The S/C screams now at WOT, and the lope at idle is great. I also love that when cruising the car still basically sounds stock. While I haven't put it on the dyno, Chad felt that i should be around 650rwhp and the car should get into the 10's on the drag strip. The weather here is great this week, so I'll be working on a new PB on Friday at the strip.
Here is a quick video I took of my cold start-up.
Unfortunately, these mods maxed out my fuel system, so an upgrade there is going to need to be in my future. I am leaning towards an E85 Flex-Fuel conversion for both it's power and it's cooling effect on the engine. I also need to start addressing my cooling, which the E85 should help with also. So far I am completely stock on the cooling system.
