Mine developed this problem at about 300 miles. Its now at 22k miles. This isn't because Im a car idiot... I mean I am, but thats not the cause. I took it to dealers constantly since it started making the noise (multiple dealers in the SF bay/Napa/Sonoma area, a couple in Phoenix, Colorado, Wisconsin, Texas, Florida) they all said the same thing "thats normal" or "its supposed to sound like that". I may not be an awesome mechanic, but Im not that stupid, I knew something was wrong. So I have been babying my baby for the entire 22k of cross country road trips(I'll post the story soon... I suck at writing). The worst part of that is twice the dealers joyrided my car for over 25miles... and I always say 'no road test'.
But there is a light at the end of the tunnel(after I shift down and floor it)! I finally got a dealer to recognize the problem!!! hahaha YES! Thank you San Antonio! My new SC is on its way and I couldn't be more stoked. I'll try to get pics of the old SC and any damage to it as well as confirm(or not) that this doesn't cause engine damage.
By the way, THANK YOU Camaro5 community! Without this thread I doubt it would have ever gotten fixed. You all rock!
