Sorry your expectations were not met. Not sure what they really were. As for myself, I drove 600 miles and had a great time. The organizers of this event bent over backwards to make this happen. I know, I do the same at Watkins Glen. Perhaps you should have been more involved from the beginning. Never saw you, must have arrived after the field was full. Maybe you're in this shot?
And, you're correct, the drivers do not work for GM. Welcome to the racing world.
