I recently met another Canadian Camaro owner at BBOMG who told me what most are saying here - the Jac Fab is a great product, and does just what we want - takes away the need to drill the front bumper and still remain legal. I liked it a lot on his car.

For a different twist, the law in Ontario is clear. It states that we must have a "front plate affixed to the foremost part of the car". Close to the exact wording...
To the letter of the law, that would place it directly in the centre of the front bumber, which the Jac Fab does.
But...I talked with a friendly local police officer who told me that front plate violations aren't on the top of their priority list, although catching an officer when he or she is having a difficult day could still result in you being ticketed.

This is what I have thought of doing but haven't yet acted upon, so I asked him:
If I took my front plate to a printing company (Kinko's, or the like), and had them copy it onto a heavy paper or maybe a light plastic stock (if they have plastic stock) with an adhesive backing that would allow the "plate" to be stuck onto the front bumber, centered, would that work?
He said that since the law says "plate", not a facsimile of the plate, likely not if pushed hard.
But, he also said, even if the police were looking, if they saw what appeared to be a true front plate, there is little-to-no chance that they'd do a double-take to try to verify it as a true metal plate.

It would be very important to find an adhesive backing that would not hurt the paint fininsh on the bumber, and for those who drive their cars in rain or winter, be strong enough to hold it in place.
That said, for what little I hope that this idea would cost, we could have several printed at the same time.

Just a thought.
