Most body shops don't even work on car bodies anymore. They're panel replacement specialists or whatever. God help you if you have rust damage or an old vehicle they can't swap a panel or two and paint and finish the job in 3 days or less. Sure, the minor ding here and there they will do. They'll pop some putty on it, sand down the quarter panel and spray away, but usually not even in a booth.
If Walmart had a body shop, this is the quality I would expect from MOST body shops nowadays. Not saying they're intentionally bad, but time is money, and they do it only for the dollars moreso than their artistic abilities.
There's still a few good ones out there, but only a few. Go hunt for one.
