You like me, are here in Central NJ. So if you guestimate the standard income is about $45K, here you know how taxes average between $4k-$10k depending on where in NJ you are. Now add utilities and regular bills and you aren't living lifestyles of the rich and famous. If you were making $200K a year in this area I could see otherwise.
Now, lets take that same $45K income and go say like certain parts of TX or NC. Guess what, the same $350K house you bought here, is going for $75K there.

Man I need to move to Texas!!! Houses where I live are going for 900K and that's for the Junkers. House across the street just sold for 2.5 million. 3000 sq ft.
