When tuned on a dyno this was with a high speed fan blowing air in the 70s, open hood yet showed 0 detonation even at 6,000-6,500 RPMs.
So, my assumption is out on the road in hot 100 degree Summer heat, high RPMs caused the engine to run hot, lean, detonate which did not register during dyno tuning.

If I proceed with purchasing a ZL1 or add a Magnacharger to my L99 reluctant to increase the shift points past 6,000 RPMs.
With the ZL1 would simply pulley it down to spin the maggie faster, and tune to increase boost/rwhp. No different than what the Dodge boys are doing on their 707 h.p. 2015 Challenger 6.2 liter supercharged SRT Hellcat or Ford with the Shelby GT500, just increased boost.

As for the L99 read the stock lifters are not strong, plus a high compression motor too.
So, reluctant to super charge it.
