OK, seriously this time...road noise is caused by many things. Among them tires and well, the road. Sometimes performance tires are the wrong choice if luxurious environs are your goal.
These cars are not made by Rolls Royce. They are not intended for picking out each of the dulcet strains of Liszt on your gramophone as you ooze down the street, your chauffeur mildly sneering at the rabble poised around your horseless carriage as you quaff Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Cars made in the 21st century are by and large quite quiet overall. However I am amazed by a group of people- the folks here at C5 for example- that routinely insist that a Camaro is a "sports car", and yet at the same time think the car is "noisy". 5Gen isn't "noisy". We have been spoiled by lower-priced cars entering the "affordable luxury" market, in which the cars feature lots of sound deadening to justify the manufacturer's insistence that the car is a 'luxury' car. We seem to expect the round-peg Camaro to fit the square-hole niche.
