I have a fullsize spare in mine. it takes up so much room, I've had to turn the spare upside down so I can put groceries inside the wheel itself. Actually it holds things (that fit) nicely and keeps them from sliding around. Not much room on the sides, but there's some.
Not being snarky here, but have you looked under the floor of the trunk (I had the car for two months before I lifted the panel, in hopes of finding a way of modifying it to fit a spare... when I did... holy smokes, I found not ONLY the big giant cubby for a spare, but a spare indeed!). You may be able to fit your spare into that cubby. Unless something has gone terribly wrong with the design since 2011, I'd assume that your '14 has the same cubby that mine has.

(Yes, I know, there are countless reasons why this might not work: perhaps you have staggered sizes, or large diameter aftermarkets, or use that space for stashing narcotics (I jest, I jest...). Just wanted to make sure that you are aware of the big round hole under the trunk floor...)
