Hey, did you get it apart. I just saw your PM sorry I didn't reply.

I found that when I got the HVAC box out of the car, even though the manual said to remove screws to open it up...I had to drill out a few positions that were plastic welded together instead of screws. I can't remember off the top of my head, but there were way more than 4 of them.

I put the screws back in and didn't bother adding anything where I had drilled it out, and I've had no issues at all. I probably could have used some small self tapping machine screws for plastic, but I didn't bother as there are a LOT of screws holding it together anyways.

You will need to drain your AC to remove the box from the car, and then re-charge it later on...once it's drained you can unbolt the lines from the firewall on the drivers side in the engine bay to seperate them from the box. AC shops can recycle your refrigerant for you as it's bad for the environment to just let it vent out.
