Don't worry about "unique enough". Ford seems to be going gangbusters on the GT350, which will have the biggest engine to use a flat plane crankshaft. Furthermore, the rumors are that they'll be releasing a GT40/GT successor (given the timing, I'm guessing GT50 will be the name) AND racing it at Le Mans.
With that kind of competitive pressure, GM won't be sitting idly by and twiddling their thumbs...
