The 1LE is an option package for the V8-powered Camaro SS that includes a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission, beefed up rear axle with heavy-duty half-shafts and a 3.91:1 final drive ratio (which gives quicker acceleration than the 3.45 gears in the stock SS), thicker anti-roll bars, a strut tower brace, and a bunch of kit from the ZL1, including the uber-Camaro's Goodyear Supercar G:2 tires, monster 20" aluminum wheels, wheel bearings, and some suspension mounting hardware. The 1LE doesn't get the ZLI's magnificent magnetic-ride shocks, but it does get better rear dampers than the SS. It also gets the ZL1's high-capacity fuel pump and multiple tank pickups which eliminate fuel starvation during hard cornering.

1LE most significant differences and major improvements over the standard SS:
-TREMEC TR660-MM6 Transmission (features more aggressive gearing ratios)
-3:91:1 Final-drive ratio (for quicker acceleration)
-Short-throw shifter
-Air-to-liquid Transmission cooling system
-FE6 Performance Ride and Handling Suspension:
.Monotube rear dampers
.27mm front / 28mm rear solid sway bars
.ZL1 wheel bearings, toe links and rear shock mounts
-Higher capacity rear axles to handle the higher grip and handling of the rear tires
-Variable-effort power steering (EPS)
-ZL1 fuel pump
-Tower-to-tower brace to enhance structural feel
-20x10 front / 20x11 rear 10 spokes ZL1 wheels with 285_35R20 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires all around.
-Recaro Performance seats (Option-AYZ)
-Dual Mode exhaust (Option-NPP)
