Mine was fixed between last Monday and late Wednesday afternoon (Oct '14).. I am very thankful to Genthe Chevrolet in Southgate MI. which is where it was purchased in March of 2012.

They replaced the torque converter and it was the later version with the corrections, not just another just like it. I didn't look at the statement but I'm pretty sure they also changed the tranny fluid and filter. He said "Mike, who has been here for 18 years did it"..and this is the 3rd one which we have done".. The service manager's name is Scott, and no he's not the service rep. in Mi. which invites Private messages about their concerns.

I was so anxious and fearful that mine would be handled badly like some of the posters in this thread, we don't know if their cars were ever fixed up if they didn't follow up on their posts.

I had gone on a trip thru KY and TN a few weeks ago as I do annually, it was doing it last year also but I didn't know it was a serious problem. Well this year it became much worse so when i got home I searched google for "transmission problems camaro"..next thing you know I'm reading others stories with the exact same symptoms. What really had me fearful was that here in Mich. the landscape is very flat so it would rarely do it, and I thought they would not do the fix if they could not get it to duplicate the "concern"..

So, I printed out the service bullitin, took the car to them and described it (with the added help of the lingo from here)..the "shudder" and all that. The service rep. included the # of the service bullitin to the work order.

So, if your service center is giving you the run around like "that is normal".."your tires are out of balance"..etc. Than make sure they know about the torque converter issues on the '12 with the 3.8 V6.

BTW mine was not a bone stock, it never had been retuned or anything dramatic but it does have lowering springs, aftermarket wheels, cat back exhaust, CAI and I changed my rear differential fluid. I wasn't sure any of those could be blamed for my issues, but it wasn't.

I only drove it home, no time to test drive it, but the service manager was very clear and concise about them installing the new improved torque converter.
