I got to practice my theory in a a 1965 Ranchero that didn't run ( yup, found on road dead ) , but I was able to sit in the seat and make the engine noises and go through the shift pattern ( three on the tree ). This was when I was 14. Then when I turned 16 my dad decided that I would learn to drive in the family work truck, a 2 1/2 ton flat bed lift/dump truck. He figured if I could drive that I could drive any car or pickup out there. I didn't like getting yelled at when I killed it on hills and such, but I did learn how to drive a stick ! lol.
