Tightening up the steering

well I blew the engine a few months ago in my Z right. well after I get my new camaro is when I'm going to build her up again. But I was wondering if anyone knew of a setup to tighten up the steering on the car.

I love how the car handles and all but honestly feel there's a slight disconnect from the time I start to turn the wheel and before the car really moves. . .I believe most of this might be fixed with new shocks/springs/a-arms etc. . .but anything out there for rack and pinion?
