Our stock chains are single roller timing chains meaning the part that contacts the inside of the gear teeth has a small rounded roller on the chain. to run a double roller a different sprocket would be needed for the crank shaft also a different timing chain cover , a K5r is the most common swap in for the stock chain as it has been race tested. Also chains do not normally stretch but wear on the roller surface..... The roller chain is better as the links of the chain have a roller to cover the linked round to make it wear out instead of the chain itself. I am using the stock chain and down the road will most likely freshen up the oil pump down the and and the timing chain as I was advised they are fine and bought a better harmonic balancer to help for cranks shaft main bearing or timing chain wear.
