I'd like to see that T/A. I drove one at autocross once, about ten years ago when my own car broke. Seemed like an easy car to jump into and drive quickly.

I sincerely learned the capabilities of the 1LE, do I appreciate the safety of a fully caged "track only" car, YES...

You're echoing what Terry Fair of Vorshlag has just posted elsewhere. He had an 'off' at Road Atlanta earlier in the year resulting in injuries and has been re-thinking this sort of thing. This is a very experienced driver and fast car combination that's been setting lap records in whatever TT class it runs in over both of the past two seasons.

I would have enjoyed bringing the 1LE to the next level,
but..
better focus was to "be safe, be happy driving at 7/10th's,
and bring home , in full running condition, what you started the event with!

I'd have enjoyed trying to keep you in sight, still hope to even if it's the T/A I'm chasing (and reminding myself of the potential red mist in doing so).
7/10ths seems to be the point that Hooked On Driving has people shooting for, so that some margin remains for coping with the unexpected. I suspect that I step a little past 7/10the on occasion, though not so far that I get bit by it. Had to catch a little tail looseness exiting T1 in session 1 last week (following a fairly late off-line pass).

This winter will suck,
looking forward to many more track days come spring...

NJMP has scheduled a T-bolt track day for December 27th and as of right now there are 8 people registered (mostly for the 'hot laps instructed' group). I haven't committed to going (yet), but it isn't completely out of the question either. FWIW.
